Before coaching we were consistently turning over £100,000 per year.  In the first 6 months of coaching we hit revenues of £1.5 million!  It has been a massive growth jourmey for us as a team and as a business and a key part of that was focusing on the systems.

Why coaching?

Before coaching, business was going well but we got to a point where it started to level off and was consistent around the £100k.  We knew there was another level that we wanted to reach and we had seen the success John had had with another retailer in our area so approached him to help.  When we started coaching, our initial focus was on the direction we were taking and the end goal.  Once John had taken us through the process of understanding what needed to be done and why, the changes we made really started to make an impact on the business.   

What does coaching entail?

The coaching sessions we have with John each week start by looking at the actions that we have been set the previous week and looking at what we’ve achieved and what we have not achieved; a key part of our success is this accountability.  John has a real ability to stretch our minds and make sure that we are thinking bigger.  Often we unconsciously self-cap those goals, and John is really good at making us understand that whilst also reminding us of what it is we are aiming for and making it real.  Coaching has enabled us to really focus on the business itself away from the operation side and we now have time allocated to planning what each quarter, month, week and day looks like for everybody in the team and really starting to build that bigger vision into reality through implementation.  

Impact of coaching

When we started, we were consitently turning over £100,000 per year but in the first 6 months of coaching, this grew to £1.5 million!   This was a huge growth journey for us as a team and as a business and a key part of that was focusing on the systems.  The business actually runs easier than it did back in the early days because of the impact coaching has had and this has given me more confidence in what I can achieve.  I also feel I’m more knowledgeable when I’m around other business owners and now have a clear vision of what the company should look like.   

Continued growth

The growth journey with Hewlett & Co and the rapid systems development we’ve had to put in place has actually opened our eyes to more potential that we have as a company and us as individuals.  We are delivering a great customer experience to our customers and we have now expanded our operations to do that on behalf of other E- Commerce brands who are growing as well.  We would never look back now. We thoroughly enjoy our coaching sessions and get so much from them and we know that we have a better future because of it.
